While taking a trip from California to Bangor through a lonely road, Carrie Mitchel is suggested by the gasoline station consequent Jimmy to relax in a hotel; however, she chooses to continue driving through the night and nearly hits a wounded teenage girl with blood on her face. She gives a lift to the woman and listens to the tale of her guest and her buddies.
