After she has caught australian teenager Heidi is left with very little choice but to leave home. With choices, Heidi ultimately eventually ends up a tourist area, at Jindabyne. Upon meeting with Joe she attempts to find something resembling a normal home life and awakens a romance with him. Strides that are small are made by heidi by getting a job and finding a place to keep, but her association with Joe has to overcome over the usual share of obstructions.
