Overview
Stephen Frears directs this drama concentrating on British playwright Joe Orton, revealed after his murder in flashback Kenneth Halliwell. Born in 1933 in Leicester, in the English Midlands, John'Joe' Orton loves an openly homosexual relationship with Halliwell in their famous Islington flat in the 1960s, and moves to London to study at RADA. When spectacular success is achieved by Orton with such plays 'What the Butler Saw' and'Loot', Halliwell begins to feel invigorated as well as the future of the pair looks uncertain.
