A fictional account of the U.S.S. Constitution's 1813 mission to fight the Barbary pirates that were terrorizing American ships at the time. It focuses on the crew and passengers of a merchant ship, The Esther, who fall into the hands of the same pirates and become part of the Constitution's mission.
