Centuries earlier, the beloved Chinese Ape King utilized his wonderful personnel to capture and trap the wicked Devil Bull King deep inside a hill. Flash-forward to contemporary China, when destiny leads MK (aka Monkie Kid), a young noodle store distribution kid, to discover the long-lost staff.
