Every time a globe-trotting, workaholic dad attempting to go to his kid on a last minute lay over in Los Angeles discovers that she has disappeared, he compels her clumsy, nervous ex boyfriend, still nursing a broken heart, to help him find her on the duration of one increasingly crazy night.
