A couple of decades following the destruction of the Inca empire, a Spanish expedition leaves the hills of Peru and extends down the Amazon river. They come across difficulties and a man who cares only about wealth, Don Aguirre, becomes their leader. But will his quest lead them to"the golden city", or to certain destruction?
